How to Grant Access in Google Tag Manager 💡
Here’s how you can safely share access to your GTM account…
Step 1: Log in to Your Google Tag Manager Account
- Visit tagmanager.google.com.
- Log in using the Google account associated with your GTM container.
Step 2: Navigate to the Admin Section

Step 3: Click User Management 👇

Step 4: Add New User
Click the + button in the top right corner and choose Add Users.

Step 5: Enter the email address of the person you want to grant access to.
Make sure they are using a Google account.

Step 5: Assign Permissions
Google Tag Manager allows you to assign different permission levels depending on the user’s role:
- No Access
- Read
- Edit
- Approve
- Publish
Assign the appropriate permission level based on the person’s role and responsibilities. For example, if you’re working with a marketing agency that needs to publish tags, grant Publish permissions. If you’re working with a junior team member who will only review settings, Read or Edit access might suffice.
